Letter to the Editor: The Night to Shine Prom

Community Heights Alliance Church in partnership with Newton Church of The Way co-hosted the 2024 Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. The unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love and celebrating people with special needs, was hosted by churches around the world simultaneously Friday, Feb. 9. Community Heights and The Way were so excited to be a part of this worldwide movement.

Night to Shine is a complimentary event and while each event is a little different, some activities include a red carpet entrance complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, dancing, karaoke, gifts, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, a Sensory Room and a crowning ceremony where every honored guest receives a crown or tiara.

Thank you to our countless volunteers. You are all rockstars! This night would not have been possible without the dedicated volunteers who prayed, organized, decorated, did hair and makeup, buddied up and showed God’s love to the honored guests. We are also very grateful for the many individuals and businesses who either donated or discounted their services.

It takes the coming together of our community to make an event like Night to Shine a success. We look forward to Night to Shine 2025. If you or your business would like to make a financial donation to support the 2025 Night to Shine, reach out to Community Heights Alliance Church or Newton Church of The Way. Once again, thank you to all who came together to make Night to Shine 2024 a fantastic event!
