Kyle was the eldest son of Eugene Myron and Zetta Rae (Butler) Stock and was born on December 22, 1950. He attended Marshalltown Community Schools in his younger years before his folks moved north of Killduff in 1963. He was a 1969 graduate of Lynnville-Sully School where he enjoyed playing football and basketball. In 1972, he was united in marriage to Cynthia March and to this union they had 3 sons. Ryan (1975), Jason (1978), and Eric (1980). He and Cindy later divorced.
In his early years after high school, he worked for Fred Schmidt Lumberyard. Then he was a hired hand for Tom and Wayne Sharp. He then worked for March Materials, his father-in-law. Not knowing exactly what peaked his interest in trucking he started driving for Lynnville Transport. In 1983 he bought his own truck and became an owner operator. In 2002, he brought his son Ryan into the business. Kyle also dabbled in the family farm north of Killduff.
He was an active member of the ATHS, and the American Truck Historical Society. Kyle enjoyed attending many truck shows over the years. His CB handle was “Cowboy” and that’s what most of his trucking friends called him. When his great-granddaughter came along and learned to talk that is the only name, she has ever referred to him as. Kyle got a kick out of that. He also enjoyed motorcycles. Over the years he got to enjoy many trips with friends on the bikes. He always looked forward to those trips.
