Orville James Roth, 90, died January 18, 2024, at Clarksville Skilled Nursing Center in Clarksville, Iowa.

Orville James, son of Lawrence and Agnes (Michels) Roth, was born January 26, 1933, in Waterloo, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Catholic Church in Waterloo, graduated from Janesville High School, and served in the Army Infantry. On August 2, 1958, he was united in marriage with Alma Kampman in Allison, Iowa.

Orville farmed near Westgate, then moved to Sumner where he ran Orville’s Mobile Milling and sold feed and custom mixed livestock feed. In Sumner, he belonged to St John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Thomas E Woods American Legion Post 223 and enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, and reading. In 2020 Orville moved to Newton where he enjoyed the residents and activities in Linden Place Apartments and being near family. In 2023 Orville moved to Clarksville, back in northern Iowa.

Orville is survived by two children, Evelyn (Andrew) George of Newton, Iowa, Brian (Tina) Roth of Wilton, Iowa, and son-in-law Peter Adler, of Voorheesville, NY, and four grandchildren, Maxwell Roth, Victoria Roth, Adam George and Nicole George. He is also survived by three sisters, Virginia Remley, Berniece Miller and Jane Lane, and a brother, Melvin (Judy) Roth. He was preceded in death by his wife Alma, daughter, Karen Adler, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and his parents.
