White earns title of United States Marine

Avery White, a 2023 graduate of Newton High School, has earned the title of United States Marine after completing 13 weeks of intensive recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.

He graduated on June 17, with the rank of Private First Class (E-2), as a member of Second Training Battalion, Fox Company, Platoon 2129. White will serve on active duty in the United States Marine Corps.

White is a second-generation Marine, proudly following in the footsteps of his father, Kenneth A. White Jr., who served 20 years ago. He is the son of Kenneth A. White Jr. and Echo Foster, and the stepson of Nicole Meyer.
