Calendar set for 2021-22 at C-M

First day of school planned for Aug. 25

The 2021-22 School Calendar is set for the Colfax-Mingo School District. The C-M School Board approved the calendar during its regular March meeting.

The year kicks off with the first day of school Aug. 25. Two weeks later, 90 minute late starts begin each Wednesday of the week.

The first no school day comes Oct. 11 for teacher professional development followed by the end of the first quarter Oct. 29. Parent-Teacher Conferences start Nov. 4 and 11 for the elementary school and Nov. 11 and 16 in the secondary level. On those days classes will be released 1-hour early with conferences running from 4 to 8 p.m. Also, the end of the first trimester comes Nov. 12. Thanksgiving break begins Wednesday with no school Nov. 24 through 26.

Winter break starts Dec. 22 and runs through Jan. 2. The second quarter wraps up Jan. 14 followed by a teacher professional development no school day Jan. 17.

In February, there is no school on Presidents Day Feb. 24 followed by the end of the second trimester Feb. 25. March brings the second round of Parent-Teacher Conferences March 3 and 8 for the elementary school and March 3 and 10 for the secondary school. Like the first conferences, school will be let out 1-hour early with conferences from 4 to 8 p.m.

A teacher comp day is scheduled for March 11 with spring break following the next week from March 14 to 18. March concludes with the end of the third quarter on the 25th.

April has a teacher professional development no school day the 18th. In May, the senior’s last day is planned for May 19 with graduation scheduled for 1 p.m. May 22.

The last day of pre-school will come May 24 followed by a 2-hour early out last day of school for the district the 26th. Make-up days are reserved for May 27 and May 31 through June 3.

According to the calendar, a total of 1,117.3 hours of instruction time is in the calendar, 37.3 more than the required 1,080 hours. The school day will run from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for the elementary school and 8:10 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. in the secondary building.
