Hans Jurgen Lenz, 68, of Baxter, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Hans was born Aug. 24, 1952, in Kaiserslautern, Germany to Irma (Dungfelder) Lenz. They moved to Baxter when he was six. He attended Baxter High School and graduated with the class of 1971. After school, he worked for Maytag and then farmed alongside his father until retirement. Hans was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter. He was a collector of many things, including cars of all kinds. Hans loved spending time with his grandkids, family, watching Nascar and his Bears. Also, the occasional rummage sale.
Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Wayne and Irma Poage; longtime partner, Sharon Keeley; children, Gary Fallon, Rodney (Laura) Fallon, Stacy (Rodney) Pearson and Stefanie (Mike) Cluphf; grandchildren, Samantha, Devin, Rebekah and Austin; brother, John (Sybil) Poage.
