CHARLES CITY — A Floyd County jury on Wednesday found a Waterloo man guilty of the 2017 shooting death of a Grundy Center.
Armando Adame III was convicted of first-degree murder and a weapons count for the Oct. 25, 2017, shooting death of 27-year-old Michael Bruce Johns. Investigators said the men had been arguing as they drove around Floyd County when they stopped on a gravel road.
Adame then pulled Johns from the vehicle and shot him in the head with a sawed-off shotgun, police said. Johns was reported missing the next day, and his body was found several weeks later at a rural intersection about 10 miles south of Charles City.
