Ronan Matthew Bundy

Dec. 17, 2018

Ronan Matthew Bundy, 16, of rural Melbourne, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at his home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Newton. The family will greet friends from noon to 2 p.m. and again after the service with a coffee time at the church. Memorials to Ronan’s family may be left at the church the day of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Ronan, the son of Steve and Kristina (Perry) Bundy, Jr., was born June 15, 2002, in Overland Park, Kan. He grew up in Liberty, Mo., before moving to Iowa in 2012. Ronan was currently a junior at Baxter Community Schools. He attended Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, helping with Awanas and running the sound system. Ronan was extremely artistic and had a passion for music. From a young age, he could be found drumming on anything and everything. In addition to drums, he could also play the piano by ear. Ronan was very computer and tech savvy. His next project was going to be building his own computer.

Ronan was the type of kid who was well liked by everyone and wouldn’t shy away from hugging his family in front of his friends. He was comfortable in his own skin and strong in his faith and convictions.  His love for Kansas Jayhawk Basketball carried over to his future dreams of attending KU and majoring in architecture.

Ronan is survived by his parents, Steve and Kristina Bundy, Jr. of Melbourne; siblings, Micah, Kegan, Emma, Elam, Caleb and Joshua, all of Melbourne; maternal grandmother, Mary Perry of Gladstone, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Steve and Sandy Bundy, Sr. of Shawnee, Kan.; uncles and aunts, Mark (Tina) Bundy of Kansas City, Kan., Carol (Chris) Hawkins of Seattle, Wash., Brian Perry of Kansas City, Mo., and Kathy Smith of Kansas City, Mo.; his cousin, Chase Bundy; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Fred Perry.
