I would like to thank Chaz Allen and Wes Breckenridge for sending me a birthday card on the occasion of my 85th birthday.
Having said that, I was disappointed to learn that Chaz and Wes were only paying $20 per month for their health care benefits. I am aware that there are many Maytag retires both hourly and salaried, and others, who would welcome the opportunity to pay $444 per month. They are only paying 4.5 percent of what they should be paying.
This means that not only are we paying for our coverage (in my case, more than $700 per month), our tax dollars are being used to subsidize their coverage. This is not right.
In case Chaz and Wes have decided to do what is right and pay $444 per month for their health care benefits (which is a bargain) they are to be commended. If they have not changed, then the voters will have a decision to make if and when Chaz and Wes seek re-election.
