Newton Bike Club thanks supporters

0

To the Editor,

Each year the Central Iowa Cyclists Bike Club here in Newton has a fund drive to raise money for bicycle helmets. These are given to the third graders in the Newton Community School District. This year we will be handing out approximately 270 helmets. It is so important that anyone riding a bicycle wears a helmet.

The Bike Club would like to publicly thank the following businesses and individuals for their donations. Without their monetary support, we could not do this project. Our thanks go to Newton Clinic PC; PDP — Product Development Partners; The Medicine Shoppe; Shields Auction Services; Carney D. Loucks, DDS-MS; Darrell’s Electric; William and Margaret Ehler; Advantage Credit Union; Lauterbach-Buick-Pontiac-GMC; Grinnell Safe & Lock; Robert Kuhn, DDS; Wallace Family Funeral Home; Car Country; Theisen’s Home-Farm-Auto; and Mojo Cycling.

The Bike Club has a meeting the second Tuesday of each month at PJ’s Deli at 7 p.m. If you would like to become a member, come to our meeting. Besides the helmet giveaway, we do go on a lot of bike rides during the year. Each member also receives a 10 percent discount at Mojo Cycling here in Newton.

If you have any questions, give me a call at (641) 792-4854. If I don’t know the answer, I will find out or give you the name of someone in our club that can help you.
