KEOTA — The Lynnville-Sully boys basketball team is 22-10 against Keota since 2006. But the Hawks came into their latest matchup with the Eagles having won just two times in the past six meetings.
L-S can add a third mark to the win column after downing Keota 57-47 on the road on Tuesday.
The Hawks led by six after one quarter, improved the margin to 12 at halftime and then held off a third-quarter surge by the Eagles to win the South Iowa Cedar League contest.

Will Van Vark led a balanced Hawks’ attack with 11 points. He added three rebounds and five assists.
Jack Bowlin posted 10 points and six boards, Sawyer Veldhuizen totaled eight points, seven rebounds and six assists and Connor Deal contributed six points, a career-best 11 rebounds and three steals.
Dawson James finished with four points and eight rebounds, and Karson Van Maanen led the reserves with seven points, three rebounds and two assists.
Cameyon James chipped in five points and six boards and Michael Spooner added six points and two assists off the bench.

The Hawks (5-0, 5-0 in the SICL) shot 35.5 percent from the floor and won the game despite making only 5-of-18 from 3-point range.
Lynnville-Sully was 8-of-12 from the free-throw line, turned the ball over only nine times and out-rebounded the Eagles 50-29.
Jackson Vittetoe led the Eagles (3-2, 3-2) with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists and Ayden Galindo totaled 10 points and eight rebounds.
Keota shot 33 percent from the floor, made only 4-of-19 from 3 and connected on 5-of-9 from the foul line.
