BELLE PLAINE — Colfax-Mingo and Lynnville-Sully split their two contested matches during a road wrestling boys quadrangular on Dec. 4.
But a 6-3 advantage in forfeits allowed the Tigerhawks to score their only win of the night as they downed the Hawks 42-24 at Belle Plaine High School.
Colfax-Mingo lost 45-18 to North Mahaska and fell 48-17 to host Belle Plaine, while Lynnville-Sully lost 48-24 to the Plainsmen and 48-22 to the Warhawks.

Belle Plaine was undefeated for the day as it edged North Mahaska 38-34 in their South Iowa Cedar League dual.
Class 1A No. 4 Teagan Dybevik of Colfax-Mingo pinned Lynnville-Sully’s Ben Squires in the first period of their match at 285 pounds.
Lynnville-Sully’s Asher Schechinger returned the favor against C-M’s Bennie Lind at 165. Schechinger scored the win by pin in 37 seconds.
There were two double forfeits in the dual, but Logan Roam (113), Cason Fitch (126), Malachi Williams (150), Kyle Wood (157), Jesse Fitzgerald (175) and Xavier Cross (190) all took forfeits for the Tigerhawks.
Class 1A No. 11 Kimball Elliott accepted one for L-S at 132, 1A No. 4 Matthew Mintle took a forfeit at 138 and Burt Johnson won by forfeit at 144.
The Tigerhawks were 2-5 in contested matches against North Mahaska. Roam and Dybevik both won by fall and Fitch took the Tigerhawks’ only forfeit at 126.
Fitch scored a 20-2 technical fall win against Belle Plaine, but it was the team’s only contested win. Wood (165) and Dybevik accepted forfeits.
Dybevik was 3-0 for the night with two pins, Fitch was 3-0 with two forfeits and Roam and Wood both went 2-1. Wood accepted two forfeits.

Lynnville-Sully was 1-1 in contested matches against Belle Plaine. Elliott won by fall at 132 and Mintle, Schechinger and Squires (285) all accepted forfeits.
L-S was 3-1 in contested bouts against North Mahaska, but the Warhawks had a 7-1 surplus in forfeit wins. Elliott and Squires both won by fall, while Mintle scored a 9-0 major decision win. Johnson accepted the Hawks’ lone forfeit at 144.
Elliott was 3-0 with two pins, Mintle finished 3-0 with two forfeits and Johnson, Schechinger and Squires all were 2-1. Johnson took two forfeits.
Class 1A No. 6 Jett Kramer (120) of Lynnville-Sully was not available due to an injury. He’s not expected to wrestle before the winter break.
Fitch, Dybevik lead C-M at Woodward-Granger
WOODWARD — Six Tigerhawks competed in the Dennis Field Invitational, two placed second and another took third and Colfax-Mingo scored 47 points in eighth place.
Host Woodward-Granger won the tournament with 207 points. ACGC (151), Belle Plaine (141.5), Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas (137) and Coon Rapids-Bayard (134) completed the top five and the eight-team field also included Martensdale-St. Marys (92) and East Marshall/GMG (52.5).
Both Fitch (126) and Dybevik (285) were 2-1 for the day and placed second at their weights.
Fitch scored a 36-second pin, won 14-12 and lost 11-6 to Waylon Logue of SEW/MD, while 1A No. 4 Dybevik registered two first-period pins and lost by fall to 2A No. 7 Kane Mahler-Moreno of Woodward-Granger.

The next best finisher was Roam, who was third at 113. He finished 2-2 with a win by fall and an 8-4 victory in the ultimate tiebreaker.
Fitzgerald placed sixth at 175. He won his first match 11-8 in SV-1 but lost his next three. Williams (144) and Wood (157) both were 0-2 at their weights.
Ogden edges Tigerhawks in road quadrangular
OGDEN — Fitch won both of his matches by fall and Roam scored two wins by forfeit, but the Tigerhawks fell short in a pair of duals hosted by Ogden on Tuesday.
Colfax-Mingo was scheduled to participate in a quadrangular, but its third dual against Perry was cancelled due to weather.
The Tigerhawks lost 42-36 to host Ogden and Woodward-Granger downed C-M 66-18.
Colfax-Mingo was 2-1 in contested matches against Ogden, but the Bulldogs edged their visitors because of a 6-4 surplus in forfeits.
Fitch (126) and Nate Endersbe (215) both won by fall, and Roam (113), Lind (175), Fitzgerald (190) and Dybevik (285) all accepted forfeits.
Fitch posted a first-period pin against Woodward-Granger, but the Tigerhawks were 1-4 in contested matches and the Hawks grabbed seven of the nine forfeits.
