DES MOINES — The 19th straight win for the PCM girls basketball team over Saydel produced the largest margin of victory in the series in more than a decade.
The Class 3A No. 8 Mustangs held the Eagles to single digits in all four quarters and cruised to the 61-13 road win during Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play on Friday.

The 48-point win was the largest surplus for the Mustangs in the series since winning by 53 on Dec. 2, 2016.
PCM led 17-2 after one quarter and outscored the Eagles 20-4 in the second, 12-1 in the third and 12-6 in the fourth.
Tori Lindsay scored 10 of her game-high 13 points in the first half and added five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Libby Winters put in all seven of her points in the first half and contributed five rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks and Kyra Naeve produced 10 points, two assists and two steals. She scored eight of her 10 in the first half.

Lila Milani scored six points and Jorja Teeter posted four points and three rebounds.
The Mustangs (3-1, 2-0 in the HOIAC) got 21 points from their bench. Lillian Knapp scored five of her career-high seven points in the second half and added two assists.
Lexi Fagg scored the first five points of her varsity career, Kenna Grier posted three points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals, Camden Webb registered four points, four rebounds and three steals and Bailey Wheeler swiped two steals off the bench.
PCM shot 44.4 percent from the floor, made 8-of-22 from 3-point range and connected on 5-of-9 from the free-throw line.

Luella Weispfenning led Saydel (1-2, 0-1) with five points and nine rebounds and Taylor Vanderpool contributed four points and five boards.
The Eagles shot 18 percent from the floor, missed all five of their attempts from 3 and turned the ball over 33 times.
