SULLY — Isabelle Vos posted a double-double, Kate Harthoorn drained five 3-pointers and the Lynnville-Sully girls basketball team cruised past Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, 73-35, in the season opener for both teams on Friday night.

The Class 1A No. 8 Hawks led by 14 at halftime and outscored the Rockets 27-6 in the third quarter.

“Our transition game was good, which led to several easy baskets,” Lynnville-Sully head girls basketball coach Jerry Hulsing said. “Offensively, we were OK but still need to get our timing down and look to snap the ball quicker.”
