IHSAA announces expanded coverage of its championship starting in 2025-26

Boys athletic association to partner with Gray Media, Marquee Sports Network, Mediacom and Nexstar

BOONE — The Iowa High School Athletic Association is excited to share expanded coverage of its championships starting in 2025-26 alongside new television tournament partners.

In addition to free streaming through the IHSAA’s website, dozens of tournament event dates will appear across multiple platforms through arrangements with Gray Media, Marquee Sports Network, Mediacom and Nexstar.

“We’re thrilled to have tournament partners who will help us reach Iowa high school sports fans wherever they are and however they watch,” IHSAA executive director Tom Keating said. “Our debut broadcasts this fall will be a major step forward for easy and accessible coverage of IHSAA championships.”

These tournament partners will provide multiple options — over the air (OTA), over the top (OTT) and cable — for interested viewers.

Through IHSAA-contracted video productions, the selected networks, channels and apps of each tournament partner will feature events across seven sports and nine sites in the 2025-26 athletic year.

Tournament partners through Gray Media include TV stations in Cedar Rapids, Sioux City, Davenport, Ottumwa, Rochester (Minnesota), Quincy (Illinois), Omaha (Nebraska) and North Star Sports in Minnesota.

Other partners include the Marquee Sports Network, MC22 (Mediacom) and WHO-TV 13 in Des Moines through Nexstar.

Events on OTA partners (Gray, Nexstar) will primarily feature on Dash Dot channels. IHSAA will announce local listings and additional viewing options as available.

The 2025-26 IHSAA sports, dates and rounds featured by tournament partners include the state semifinals in football, the finals of the state wrestling duals, the state semifinals for the traditional wrestling tournament, the quarterfinals and semifinals in basketball, the semifinals and finals in soccer, all rounds at both sites in baseball, the state swim meet and the state track and field meet.
