SULLY — A four-run fourth inning put the Lynnville-Sully softball team in front of Montezuma and the Hawks led through six on June 27, but the Bravettes scored 10 runs in their final at-bat and downed their hosts 12-4.
Montezuma scored twice in the second, but L-S went in front 4-2 with the big fourth frame during South Iowa Cedar League action. The two teams scored runs in just three at-bats.

Both teams had 10 hits, and the Bravettes committed four of the team’s six errors.
Lynnville-Sully (9-16, 7-10 in the SICL) is 25-8 in the series since 2010, but Montezuma has won five in a row.
Kate Harthoorn and Peyton Sharp each contributed two hits, while Jakeira Hay, Olivia Beyer, Alaina Roberts, Olivia Norrish, Emma Johnson and Sophia Squires all finished with one hit.
Sharp scored one run and had one RBI, Harthoorn stole one base, Hay doubled and walked once and Roberts doubled and scored one run.
Norrish chipped in one run, one RBI and one steal, Johnson drove in one run and Katelyn Nikkel scored one run and stole one base.

Harthoorn (8-14) took the loss in the circle after allowing 10 runs — nine earned — on eight hits, six walks and one hit batter in six innings. She fanned three.
Johnson surrendered two earned runs on two hits and two walks in her one inning.
Vivian Cook led Montezuma (5-12, 5-11) with two hits, two runs and two RBIs and Mya Smothers added two hits and three RBIs.
Leah Urfer allowed no earned runs on 10 hits and struck out four in seven innings.
