OSKALOOSA — Cade Bauer tripled and Creighton Andrew doubled, but the Newton baseball team was limited to three hits during a 10-0 road loss to Oskaloosa on Wednesday.
The Cardinals had as many errors as hits in the Little Hawkeye Conference loss. The Indians (8-3, 2-2) plated six runs in the sixth to end the game early by mercy rule.

Bauer’s triple and Andrew’s double were two of the team’s three hits. Drew Bauer also singled and Carter Lehrman and Dakota Winkleman each walked once.
Andrew (0-1) took the pitching loss after allowing one earned run on three hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out two.
Winkleman surrendered eight runs — seven earned — on seven hits, one walk and one hit batter in 1 1/3 innings. He struck out one.
Oskaloosa, which ended the game with one out in the bottom of the sixth, got two hits, two runs, two RBIs and two steals from Tate Peterson.

Trey Parks (2-1) struck out six and allowed just three hits, two walks and one hit batter in six innings. He was the winning pitcher.
Oskaloosa out-hit Newton 9-3. The Cardinals fell to 3-7 and 1-5 in conference play.
