SULLY — Carson Maston struck out 13 batters over five innings, Lannon Montgomery and Terran Gosselink both had two hits and three RBIs and the Lynnville-Sully baseball team dominated Collins-Maxwell, 11-1, in its season opener on Wednesday.
The Hawks scored four runs in the first inning and then ended the game early with two in the fifth and five in the sixth.

Maston (1-0) allowed no runs and no hits and walked one in five innings. He also had one hit, one walk and one RBI and was hit by a pitch at the plate.
Montgomery added three runs and one walk, Gosselink was hit by a pitch and Jaiden Richards doubled, scored three runs, tallied one RBI, walked once and stole one base to lead the Hawks (1-0) at the plate.
Gavin Olea chipped in one hit, one run, two RBIs, one walk and one steal, Wyatt Mathis and Matthew Mintle each walked once and scored one run and Colton Alberts and Gavin Fisk each scored one run.

Jack Bowlin, who had an RBI at the plate, allowed one earned run on two hits and struck out two in one inning of work on the mound.
Cooper Wierson led Collins-Maxwell (0-2) with one hit and one RBI and he took the pitching loss. Andrew Jacobson tallied one hit and one run.
