PELLA — Macy Lampe and Tori White both won an individual event and teamed up to win the shuttle hurdle relay during the Pella Dutch Coed Relays on Monday.
The Cardinals used four wins and 14 top-three finishes to claim second in the team standings in their final meet before Thursday’s state qualifier at Mount Vernon.
“The team saw the warmest night of competition yet but, as they have done all season long, they pushed through and had a great night,” Newton head girls track and field coach Rachelle Tipton said. “A second-place finish is very exciting to see.”
