C-M soccer goes 3-0 in dominant week

Tigerhawks down trio of opponents, 10-0

COLFAX — Lily Webster and Karmylia Snyder scored goals on their Senior Night, Meadow Lane piled up four goals and one assist and the Colfax-Mingo girls soccer team dominated Greene County, 10-0, on May 5.

The Tigerhawks led their Senior Night match 6-0 at halftime. It was their third 10-0 win of the season but the first since April 8.

Webster, Snyder and Rylie Van Beek all were recognized as seniors before the match. Webster had two goals and one assist in the win and Snyder’s goal was the first of her varsity career.

Bianca Lane and Victoria Woods each registered one goal and one assist, Ashlyn Finch tallied one goal and Macie Porter and Emmalyn Buchman each delivered an assist.

It was Porter’s first career assist. Bianca Lane now has four goals and eight assists this season, while Woods scored her sixth goal and delivered her fourth assist.

Colfax-Mingo (9-1-3) out-shot Greene County 26-0 and had a surplus of 15-0 in shots on goal. The Rams dropped to 0-11.

Colfax-Mingo 10, Clarke 0

CLARKE — Dakota Allen scored her first career varsity goal, Brooklyn Yanske put in her first goal of the season and the Tigerhawks dominated Clarke, 10-0, on Thursday.

The Tigerhawks led 3-0 at halftime before ending the match in the 79th minute.

Colfax-Mingo out-shot Clarke 15-0 and had a 12-0 advantage in shots on goal. Buchman and Porter shared time in the net to earn the shutout and Buchman dished out one assist.

Meadow Lane put in six goals and dished out an assist to lead the C-M offense. Two of her goals came on penalty kicks.

Finch and Webster both scored one goal each, Woods dished out two assists and Blain Houseman tallied her first career assist. It was the sixth assist this season for Woods.

Clarke (2-9) was shutout for the seventh time this season.

Colfax-Mingo 10, Chariton 0

CHARITON — Meadow Lane set a school record with seven goals and the Tigerhawks posted their third straight 10-0 win against Chariton on Friday.

Visiting Colfax-Mingo led 3-0 at halftime and ended the contest in the 70th minute. It was the Tigerhawks’ seventh shutout this spring and they have five 10-0 wins.

Meadow Lane scored seven goals and improved her season total to 42. She also added one assist and now has a team-best 10 of those. One of Meadow’s goals was a penalty kick.

Houseman scored her first career varsity goal and chipped in one assist, Finch and Webster each scored one goal and Bianca Lane collected her seventh and eighth assists of the season.

Allen dished out one assist. Finch (6) and Webster (5) have a combined 11 goals this spring.

Meadow Lane’s 42 goals rank third in the state and second in Class 1A. Her 10 assists are tied for 11th.

Chariton (4-9-2) was shutout for the fifth time this season.

Tigerhawks draw rematch with Benton Community

Colfax-Mingo will open Class 1A Region 7 play against Benton Community at 7 p.m. on May 21 in Colfax.

The regional semifinals will be May 28 and the regional championship match is May 30.

The Tigerhawks defeated Benton, 7-1, earlier this season at the Newton tournament.
