OSKALOOSA — Another Sophia Coady hat trick propelled the Newton girls soccer team to a win over Oskaloosa at Lacey Sports Complex on Tuesday.
And the Cardinals continued their dominance over the Indians following a 3-1 road victory during Little Hawkeye Conference action.

The match was tied at 1-all at halftime before Coady scored twice in the second half.
The Cardinals put 20 of their 23 shots on goal. Payton Carkhuff delivered her first assist of the spring and Addy Cibula made four saves.
Coady’s hat trick pushes her season goal total to 18, which ranks seventh in Class 2A. She also has 10 assists, which are tied for eighth.
Cibula’s 119 saves this spring ranks ninth in 2A. She has played a state-high 1,174 minutes in goal.

Newton (8-5-2, 1-4 in the LHC) is 5-1-1 in its last seven matches. The Cardinals are 12-1 against Oskaloosa (4-7-1, 0-5) since 2013.
They have outscored the Indians 32-1 during their current five-match win streak. The previous four wins came by shutouts of at least 5-0.
