MONROE — Addison Steenhoek and Tori Lindsay combined to score 43 points, but a tough shooting night for the PCM girls basketball team resulted in a narrow home loss to South Hamilton on Friday.
The Mustangs fell behind early and couldn’t fully recover during a 59-55 loss in Heart of Iowa Athletic Conference play.
The Hawks led by five after one quarter and outscored the Mustangs 16-13 in the third during the win.
PCM rallied to close the gap to two at halftime and won the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.
“They hit a couple shots late and were very good from the free-throw line,” PCM head girls basketball coach Sami Allison-Rodriguez said. “We’ll have another chance to get back in the win column before the playoffs.”
