Webster leads C-M girls at Williamsburg

Tigerhawks place 15th in 28-team field

WILLIAMSBURG — The Colfax-Mingo girls’ wrestling team competed in a 28-team tournament on Monday and Lily Webster’s second-place finish paced the Tigerhawks.

Colfax-Mingo entered 11 wrestlers in the Williamsburg Girls Invitational and scored 61 points in 15th.

Webster, who is ranked No. 6 at 100 pounds, was 3-1 for the day with two pins.

Olivia Rausch and Arlo Steck were sixth at 120 and 125, respectively, and Hannah Wells placed seventh at 155.

Stock and Wells both won three times by fall, while Rausch was 1-3 with one pin. Jozlyn Wells (135) and Emmalyn Buchman (190) also claimed one win by pin at their respective weights.

Sixth-ranked East Buchanan won the tournament title with 186 points. The rest of the top five featured Independence (177), South Tama County (135.5), Ottumwa (128), Vinton-Shellsburg (117) and Fort Madison (117).
