Tigerhawks sweep field at Collins-Maxwell Duals

MAXWELL — Five Tigerhawks went 3-0 and the Colfax-Mingo girls’ wrestling team was 17-7 in contested matches during the Collins-Maxwell Duals on Monday.

The Tigerhawks finished their night undefeated with a dominating 60-12 win over Perry, an easy 54-24 victory over Woodward-Granger and an impressive 39-30 triumph over No. 9 Nevada.

Arlo Steck won all three of their matches by pin at 130 pounds. Devan Chadwick also went 3-0 with three pins, Emmalyn Buchman and Olivia Rausch both were 3-0 with two pins and Jozlyn Wells finished 3-0, too.

Colfax-Mingo rallied from deficits of 18-3 and 30-15 against Nevada. The Tigerhawks closed out the dual victory by winning the final four matches. They were 7-4 in contested matches.

Steck (125), Cadence Linn (130), Hannah Wells (170), Buchman (190), Chadwick (115) and Rausch (120) all won by fall and Jozlyn Wells claimed an 8-6 win by decision.

In the victory over Woodward-Granger, Colfax-Mingo was 7-2 in contested matches and Buchman and Kaydence Andersen (235) took forfeits.

The contested wins all came by pin and were registered by Steck, Chadwick, Rausch, Hannan Wells, Jozlyn Wells, Lily Brenner (140) and Lily Webster (105).

Webster is ranked No. 6 at 100 pounds but wrestled up to 105 against W-G and took a loss wrestling at 110 against Nevada.

Webster was one of seven Tigerhawks to take a forfeit against Perry. She was joined by Linn, Brenner, Andersen, Rausch, Jozlyn Wells and Lillie Jones. Steck, Buchman and Chadwick all posted wins by fall.

Linn, Brenner, Andersen, Webster and Hannah Wells all finished 2-1 for the night. Hannah Wells scored a pair of pins and Andersen took a pair of forfeits.
