Good leads Bolts at BGM girls wrestling tournament

Zoey Gliem wins twice in Baxter’s season opener

BROOKLYN — Zoey Gliem won a pair of matches and every other wrestler secured one victory for the Baxter girls’ wrestling team at the BGM Girls Tournament on Saturday.

The Bolts scored 20 points and placed 14th place in the 16-team field.

Gliem finished sixth at 130 pounds. She won twice by pin, including a win over her sister Johnelle Gliem, who was 0-2 at 130.

Hope Good led the Bolts’ four wrestlers in third place at 235. She scored a 30-second pin but went 1-2 for the day.

Ahlyvia Epps also was 1-2 at 100. She finished fourth after scoring a 22-second pin.

West Des Moines Valley won the tournament with 158 points. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont was the runner-up with 136 and Albia (109), Highland (103), Iowa Valley (82) and Pekin (82) completed the top five.
