Ahn headlines Cardinal trio on all-LHC volleyball team

Woollums, Lampe earn honorable mention recognition

Kadance Ahn

Senior Kadance Ahn led the Little Hawkeye Conference in kills and her kill efficiency ranked in the top five, too.

For her efforts, Ahn earned unanimous first team all-conference honors recently. She was tabbed for first team for the second straight season.

The Little Hawkeye Conference released its all-conference volleyball squads after league champion Indianola lost in the Class 4A state championship match last week.

Delaney Woollums

Joining Ahn on the all-conference team were juniors Delaney Woollums and Macy Lampe, who both were honorable mention selections.

All-conference recognition is based on statistics inside conference play only.

The Cardinals also earned the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s Distinguished Academic Achievement Award for a team grade point average of 3.65.

Seniors Hailey Sumpter and Haylie Ryan were academic all-state selections after earning a GPA of 3.7 or higher and ranking in the top 15 percent of their class.

Ahn led the LHC with 121 kills, ranked seventh with 87 digs and 15 blocks and tied for 12th with nine aces. Her kill efficiency of .270 ranked fourth in the league and she was 60-of-72 in serves.

The Cardinal senior finished her career with 1,020 kills, which ranks second all-time in school history. Her 846 career digs are the most in program history and her 4.4 kills per set ranks tied for second.

Macy Lampe

Woollums ranked 12th in the LHC with 51 kills and added 66 digs, three blocks and four aces and she was 71-of-77 in serves. Her kill efficiency was .164.
