Tigerhawks push Class 4A Perry to three sets

GUTHRIE CENTER — The Colfax-Mingo volleyball team rallied past Madrid at the ACGC tournament on Saturday. It was the lone win of the day for the Tigerhawks though.

Colfax-Mingo lost in three sets to Class 4A Perry and Glidden-Ralston and Exira-EHK earned two-set sweeps.

The Tigerhawks lost the first set to Madrid 21-13 but rallied to win the match in three. They took the next two games 21-19, 15-6.

Perry defeated Colfax-Mingo 15-21, 21-11, 20-18. Glidden-Ralston scored a 21-13, 21-17 win and Exira-EHK posted a 21-16, 21-17 victory.

Trinity Smith

In the win over Madrid (3-12), Trinity Smith led the way with 10 kills, seven digs and two aces. Her kill efficiency was .296.

Addie Schroeder added four kills and eight digs, Madison Stackhouse chipped in 14 assists, seven digs and four aces and Katelyn Steenhoek finished with three assists and three digs. Schroeder’s kill efficiency was .375.

Charlotte Donahue tallied three kills and two digs, Britney Keeney put down three kills and Grace Allen contributed two digs. The Tigerhawks were 42-of-48 in serves with eight aces.

Chloe Buck led the Tigers with six kills and six digs and Claire Knudsen added 12 digs and three aces. Madrid was 39-of-42 in serves with five aces.

In the loss to Perry (5-12), Smith finished with 10 kills and eight digs, Stackhouse collected 18 assists and eight digs and Schroeder chipped in 14 digs, two kills and four aces.

Donahue added six kills and two assists, Keeney had five kills and two digs and Linn and Kaylee Collins each registered three digs.

Keeney’s kill efficiency was .357 and Donahue posted a kill efficiency of .294. The Tigerhawks (3-9) were 53-of-54 in serves with seven aces.

Charity Parnell led Perry with 10 kills and five digs.

In the loss to Glidden-Ralston (12-1), Stackhouse led the way with 12 assists and three digs and Donahue added 10 digs and three kills.

Keeney tallied three kills, two blocks and two digs, Smith chipped in three kills and nine digs and Schroeder posted three kills and five digs.

Colfax-Mingo served 27-of-31 with one ace. The Wildcats were 34-of-35 with eight aces.

In the loss to Exira-EHK (6-7), Stackhouse tallied 17 assists, four digs and two aces and Smith had 11 kills and eight digs. Her kill efficiency was .259.

Donahue registered two kills, two blocks and three digs, Collins posted six digs, Schroeder and Allen each had five digs and Keeney put down four kills.

The Tigerhawks were 30-of-34 in serves with six aces. Macie Porter served up two aces in her varsity debut. The tournament also was Allen’s varsity debut.

Colfax-Mingo had a 19-14 advantage in kills, but Exira-EHK’s kill efficiency was .406 compared to the Tigerhawks’ .133.
