Baxter’s Selover, Pierce earn all-conference softball honors

Baxter senior Mandee Selover ranked in the top 10 in the Iowa Star Conference South Division in five different offensive categories and was in the top five in four of those.

That helped land the Bolts’ best player a first-team nod on the all-conference team recently. Junior Lydia Pierce also got the honorable mention selection for the Bolts.

Selover ranked second in the division with a .487 batting average and her .487 on-base percentage ranked eighth. She also ranked tied for second in the league with five doubles, was tied for fourth with 29 total bases and ranked fourth with 12 steals. She also scored six runs.

Pierce batted .308 and had an OBP of .357. She scored seven runs, laced three doubles, tallied two RBIs, walked three times and had 15 total bases. She ranked tied for 10th in the league with eight steals.
