Colfax-Mingo golfers down Baxter at home triangular

Tigerhawks sweep Tri-County, split with English Valleys

COLFAX — The Colfax-Mingo golf teams hosted a non-conference triangular at Colfax Country Club on April 18.

The Tigerhawk girls stayed unbeaten on the season with its victory over Baxter and Grand View Christian and the C-M boys also picked up the sweep against the Bolts and Thunder.

The C-M girls grabbed the top three individual spots and shot a season-best 227 in first. Baxter was next with a 265 and Grand View Christian was third with a 281.

Cason Fitch led the C-M boys as the Tigerhawks turned in a 214 and downed the Thunder by 15 shots. Baxter did not have enough golfers for a team score.

Charlotte Donahue was the meet medalist on the girls’ side with a career-best 49. Lily Brenner and Holland Robinette were second and third, respectively, after turning in 54s. The final counting score was Madison Stackhouse’s 70 and Chloe Clements (74) and Emily Dyer (79) turned in non-counting scores.

The Baxter girls were led by Abbie Meyer and Karlee Koehler, who both carded 58s. The 58 by Koehler was a season-best.

Calleah Wall finished with a 73 and Hannah Huffaker turned in a 76 as the final counting scorers. Leah Shanks carded a non-counting 77.

Fitch’s 46 was good enough for meet medalist on the boys’ side. Cael Bracewell (53), Luke Allen (career-best 56) and Jacob Riddle (59) were fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, as the final counting scorers.

Alex Teed (67) and Sean Ament (70) registered non-counting scores.

Baxter was led by Hudson Bethards’ career-best 61 and Stadan Vansice carded a 73.

Grand View Christian’s Brexton Jordan finished second with a 49 and Noah John was third with a 49.

Tigerhawks sweep Tri-County in road SICL matchup

SIGOURNEY — Colfax-Mingo’s golf teams picked up a pair of wins against Tri-County on April 17.

The Tigerhawk boys shot a season-best to grab their first win of the season and the C-M girls turned in a 233 at Sigourney Country Club.

Donahue’s 52 led the girls and the other counting scores came from Brenner (56), Robinette (61) and Stackhouse (64). Dyer and Caylee Cunningham finished with non-counting scores of 65 and 67, respectively.

The Tigerhawk boys (2-11) shot a 199 to defeat Tri-County (211) by 12 strokes. The Tri-County girls did not have enough golfers for a team score.

Fitch was the meet medalist with a 44, Owen Ament finished third with a career-best 49 and Teed and Riddle tied for fifth with a pair of 53s. Bracewell (54) and Allen (58) turned in non-counting scores.

Colfax-Mingo splits with SICL rival English Valleys

COLFAX — The Tigerhawk girls improved to 11-0 on the season following its win over English Valleys at Colfax Country Club on April 20.

Donahue’s career-best 49 led the way for C-M and the Tigerhawks turned in a team score of 238. English Valleys did not have enough golfers for a team score.

On the boys’ side, Owen Ament and Fitch both shot 49, but the Tigerhawks lost 189-206 to the visiting Bears. Owen Ament’s 49 matched a career-best.

Donahue was the meet medalist and Brenner, Robinette and Stackhouse tied for third with 63s. Clements (64) and Dyer (80) had non-counting scores.

English Valleys’ Jaidyn Rugg was the runner-up medalist with a 57.

After Ament (49) and Fitch (49) for the C-M boys were Bracewell (52) and Allen (56). Teed (58) and Riddle (59) registered non-counting scores.
