C-M girls highlight area squads at Dave Robinson Relays

Three area track and field teams place in top five at Nevada

NEVADA — The Lynnville-Sully girls’ track and field team registered eight wins at the Dave Robinson Relays on Thursday.

But a more balanced lineup helped Colfax-Mingo finish in front of the Hawks during the annual coed meet hosted by Colo-NESCO.

Three Jasper County programs competed in the meet. Colfax-Mingo finished second with 121.5 points and Lynnville-Sully (100) and Baxter (81.1) were second and third, respectively.

Collins-Maxwell won the meet championship with 131 points. Coon Rapids-Bayard (55.6) completed the top five and GMG (47), BGM (44.60), Colo-NESCO (43) and Meskwaki Settlement School (15) finalized the nine-team field.

The Tigerhawks were powered by four wins and five runner-up finishes.

Carley Underwood and McKenna Pleima each finished 1-2 in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles.

Underwood won the 100 hurdles in 16.73 seconds and ran to a win in the 400 hurdles in 1 minutes, 12.42 seconds. Pleima’s runner-up times were clocked in 17.23 and 1:13.49, respectively.

C-M’s other two wins came in the shuttle hurdle and 4x200 relays.

In the shuttle hurdle, Pleima, Trinity Smith, Caylee Cunningham and Underwood won the race in 1:14.99.

Jenah Jones, Emmalyn Buchman, Cunningham and Olivia Rausch won the 4x200 relay in 1:57.94.

The 4x100 relay team of Rausch, Underwood, Cunningham and Pleima took second in 53.83 seconds.

The 4x400 relay team also finished second. That foursome featured Smith, Cadence Linn, Rachael Uecker and Felicity Woods and they were clocked in 4:55.39.

The Tigerhawks finished third three times. Shae Wilkins grabbed the bronze medal in the 3,000 with a time of 13:34.16 and Addie Schroeder (6:07.85) and Wilkins (6:25.05) finished third and sixth, respectively, in the 1,500.

The sprint medley relay team of Jones, Karmylia Snyder, Buchman and Linn took third in 2:11.52.

Colfax-Mingo registered six other top-six finishes. Olivia Rausch (14.09) was second in the 100, Smith (2:52.22) placed fourth in the 800 and Holland Robinette (29 feet, 3 3/4 inches) finished fourth in the shot put.

Smith (14-1) also was fifth in the long jump, Cunningham (4-6) tied for fifth in the high jump and Rausch (29.44) placed sixth in the 200.

Lynnville-Sully claimed four individual wins and four relay victories.

Olivia Norrish (13:15.41) won the 3,000, Greenlee Smock (5:30.82) ran to a win in the 1,500, Tatum Huyser had a winning mark of 5-0 in the high jump and Abby Squires finished first in the discus with a toss of 114-7.

Huyser (27.91) placed second in the 200 and Squires hit 28-5 in the shot put and placed sixth.

The Hawks won the 4x100, 4x400, 4x800 and distance medley relays and finished second in the sprint medley relay.

The winning 4x100 relay team featured Carsyn McFarland, Morgan Hay, Morgan Jones and Huyser and they finished first in 52.93 seconds.

In the 4x400, Alaina Roberts, Kinsley Tice, Laura Fikse and Kate Harthoorn won the race in 4:49.98.

The winning distance medley relay team included McFarland, Morgan Jones, Fikse and Harthoorn and they won the race in 4:50.36.

The 4x800 relay team of Elise Alberts, Tice, Smock and Harthoorn finished first in 11:16.9.

Morgan Jones, Hay, McFarland and Huyser placed second in the sprint medley relay with a time of 2:08.55.

The Bolts were held out of the win column, but they did place second six times.

Zoey Gliem took second in the 3,000 with a time of 13:24.98 and she also placed fifth in the 400 in 1:13.59.

Mandee Selover’s runner-up finish in the long jump was marked at 15-0 1/2. She also finished fifth in the 200 with a time of 28.93.

Regan Russell (6:03.6) was the runner-up in the 1,500, Bree Buswell (17.88) took fourth in the 100 hurdles and Camryn Russell took fourth in the 400 hurdles (1:19.46) and fifth in the high jump (4-6).

Morgan Ratliff (2:52.56) and Gliem (2:55.27) were fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 800 and Adison Bonney (81-0) ended up fifth in the discus.

The Bolts’ 4x800, distance medley and shuttle hurdle relays all were second.

In the 4x800, the team of Regan Russell, Emie Tuhn, Ratliff and Caydence Sulzle finished second in 11:44.53.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Grace Anderegg, Buswell, Lilyan Headlee and Camryn Russell ended up second in 1:19.46.

Abby McReynolds, Buswell, Selover and Regan Russell capped the runner-up finishes with a second place tally in the distance medley relay. That foursome finished in a time of 4:54.07.

The 4x100 relay team of Anderegg, Buswell, Camryn Russell and Selover took fourth in 55.99 seconds.
