Bishop wins lone area title, three other Bolts finish second

NEW SHARON — Callyn Bishop has overcome his slow start to the season.

Bishop flipped the script on VanWeelden this past weekend during the North Mahaska Wrestling Invitational. He faced the Warhawk grappler in the 170-pound finals and claimed a 12-3 major decision win to score the individual championship.

Bishop’s 13th straight win led the Bolts to a sixth-place finish on Saturday. He was the lone champion from Baxter, but three others were second and Jack Anderson placed fourth in his weight class.
