HLV keeps C-M volleyball out of SICL win column

VICTOR — Trinity Smith tallied a double-double and Colfax-Mingo’s volleyball team served up 10 aces, but it wasn’t enough during a four-set road loss to HLV on Monday.

The Warriors downed the Tigerhawks 25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 25-14 during a South Iowa Cedar League matchup.

Smith finished with 11 kills and 14 digs, Caylee Cunningham added nine kills, 13 digs and two assists and Madison Stackhouse dished out 22 assists and had two digs.

Felicity Woods put down six kills, registered three blocks and finished with five digs, Abi Rawlins registered eight digs and five aces and Joslyn Chadwick collected 10 digs.

The Tigerhawks (5-8 overall, 0-3 in the SICL) were 68-of-83 in serves with 10 aces. HLV improved to 8-11 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
