C-M volleyball wins twice at ACGC tournament

Tigerhawks lose twice to West Central Valley, fall to host Chargers

GUTHRIE CENTER — Colfax-Mingo’s volleyball team won a pair of three-set matches during the ACGC tournament on Saturday.

The Tigerhawks went 2-3 for the day, defeating Class 4A Perry and Madrid while losing twice to West Central Valley and once to the host Chargers.

Colfax-Mingo defeated Perry 21-12, 15-21, 15-11 and downed Madrid 21-18, 7-21, 15-12. ACGC bested the Tigerhawks 21-12, 21-16 and West Central Valley’s two wins over C-M were 21-17, 21-12 and 21-17, 22-20.

In the win over Perry (3-10), Caylee Cunningham had seven kills, two digs and four aces and Trinity Smith finished with six kills, four digs and two aces.

Madison Stackhouse also added eight assists and five digs, Abi Rawlins registered two assists, two digs and two aces and Joslyn Chadwick tallied 10 digs and two aces. Charlotte Donahue recorded three digs.

The Tigerhawks (5-7) were 44-of-51 in serves with 13 aces. Felicity Woods served up three aces.

In the win over Madrid (8-12), Cunningham had 10 kills, five digs and two assists, Smith added four kills, seven digs and three aces and Stackhouse chipped in nine assists and six digs.

Chadwick had six digs, Rawlins registered four digs, Woods tallied two digs and Donahue dished out two assists. The Tigerhawks were 34-of-43 in serves with five aces.

In the loss to ACGC (7-6), Smith put down seven kills and had four digs, Cunningham had four kills and eight digs and Stackhouse delivered seven assists and chipped in three digs.

Chadwick finished with three digs, Donahue had two digs and Woods recorded two blocks. C-M was 25-of-29 in serves with four aces.

In the 21-17, 21-12 loss to West Central Valley (7-8), Smith registered five kills and four digs, Cunningham finished with two kills and six digs and Stackhouse added eight assists and three digs.

Chadwick collected five digs and Rawlins and Britney Keeney each had two digs. The Tigerhawks were 25-of-30 in serves with two aces.

In the other loss to the Wildcats, Cunningham put down seven kills and added four digs, Stackhouse finished with eight assists and four aces and Rawlins chipped in two kills and four digs.

Woods also had three blocks, Chadwick totaled eight digs and Smith collected five digs. The Tigerhawks were 34-of-38 in serves with eight aces.
