PCM girls golf ends season at regionals

Davis leads Mustangs in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG — PCM’s girls golf team ended its season on May 13 following its Class 2A Region 4B tournament at Stone Creek Golf Course.

The Mustangs had enough golfers for a team score and finished eighth in the eight-team field.

The top two teams advance to the next round unless the host school is in the top two. That happened in this one as host Williamsburg won with a 364 and the other two advancing teams were West Marshall (368) and Albia (406).

Williamsburg had the top two scores and West Marshall’s top four golfers finished in 3-4-5-7.

Centerville (410) and East Marshall (427) completed the top five and the rest of the eight-team field included Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (446), Davis County (458) and PCM (493).

Eleigh Davis led the Mustangs with a 109. The other counting scores came from Tori Peterson (121), Brelee Berger (131) and Deanna McHargue (132). Alyce Engle carded a non-counting 139.

Williamsburg’s Jaisel Bott shot an 82 to win medalist honors and her teammate Teagan Schaefer shot an 86 as the runner-up medalist.
