MONTEZUMA — Boys track and field teams from Baxter and Colfax-Mingo piled up points and ran away from their competitors at the Lew Lundy Relays on Tuesday.
The Bolts registered 12 wins and 21 top-three finishes to win the team title with 191 points. Colfax-Mingo had five wins and 20 top-three finishes in second place. The Tigerhawks scored 172 points.
The six-team field also included Montezuma (93.5), GMG (68), North Tama (35.5) and Tri-County (8).
Baxter won six relays and six individual events.
The individual winners included Carson Scroggins (11.94 seconds) in the 100-meter dash, Rory Heer (54.96) in the 400, Cody Samson (2:17.39) in the 800, Matt Richardson in both the 1,600 (5:24.44) and 3,200 (11:30.64) and Trice Clapper (39 feet, 11 inches) in the shot put.
The Bolts were victorious in the 4x100, 4x400, 4x800, distance medley, sprint medley and shuttle hurdle relays.
In the 4x100, Cade Robinson, Treyton Travis, Alex Dille and Scroggins won the race in 48.3 seconds.
Cody Damman, Scroggins, Samson and Heer teamed up to win the 4x400 in 3:43.85. Damman, Samson and Heer paired up with Perrin Sulzle to win the 4x800 relay in 9:07.46.
The distance medley relay included Robinson, Travis, Cainan Travis and James Esqueda and they won the race in 4:14.24.

Treyton Travis, Dille, Heer and Scroggins won the sprint medley relay in 1:43.01.
The shuttle hurdle team of Logan Rainsbarger, Keenan Varner, Kolton Hill and Logan Jones won in 1:13.26.
In the 4x200 relay, the Bolts were second with Hill, Varner, Tanner Shanks and Austin Roush and they finished in 1:46.17.
The Tigerhawks claimed victory in four individual events and one relay.
Justin Myers won the 110 high hurdles (16.56) and 400 hurdles (1:00.69), Grant Alexander (120-6) took first in the discus and Brandon Kite (18-3 1/4) won the long jump.
The Tigerhawks’ win in a relay came in the shuttle hurdle. The team of Carter Gibson, Kite, Xavier Woods and Myers finished in 1:08.91.
Baxter was second in five events and third in four others. They scored double points in the 800, 400 hurdles, long jump, discus and shot put.

Sulzle was second in the 800 behind Samson and he finished in 2:18.10.
In the 400 hurdles, Rainsbarger (1:05.42) and Jones (1:08.11) placed second and fifth, respectively. Rainsbarger (17.62) also was third in the 110 high hurdles, Damman (57.77) took fourth in the 400 and Cainan Travis (26.56) placed sixth in the 200.
The Bolts fared well in the field events.
Clapper won the shot put but Nate McMinamen (39-5 1/4) took third. In the discus, McMinamen (119-4) was the runner-up and Clapper (111-7) finished third.
Samson (17-10) and Cainan Travis (17-5 1/2) went 2-4 in the long jump and Treyton Travis tied for second in the high jump with a leap of 5-6.
Colfax-Mingo piled up seven runner-up finishes and were third in eight events. The Tigerhawks also doubled up in nine events.
Woods was fourth to Myers in the 110 high hurdles (18.16) and third to Myers in the 400 hurdles (1:05.83).
Coleman Craig and Harrison Rhone went 2-3 in the 1,600 and 3,200. In the 1,600, Craig was second in 5:33.74 and Rhone placed third in 5:45.42. Rhone was the runner-up in the 3,200 in 12:07.54 and Craig took third in 12:11.54.
Seth Johnson scored points in both the 100 and 200. He was second in the 200 (25.28) and fifth in the 100 (12.79).
In the 400, Gibson was third in 56.31 and Elias Hostetter placed sixth in 1:00.95. Jared Lewis (2:19.19) was third in the 800 and Hostetter (2:35.76) placed fifth.
Woods tied for second in the high jump with a leap of 5-6. Gibson was third in the long jump with a leap of 17-6 1/4.

Alexander was joined in the top six of the discus by Ben Keeney, who finished sixth with a toss of 94-3. Keeney (38-2 1/4) and Alexander (36-10 1/2) also were 4-5 in the shot put.
Baxter controlled most of the relays, but C-M was the runner-up in the 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 and took third in the distance medley and sprint medley relays.
In the 4x200, Kite, Lewis, Merritt McConeghey and Johnson finished in 1:44.97.
The 4x400 team of Johnson, Gibson, Hostetter and Myers was second in 3:48.54.
Lewis, Tony Buenrostro, Owen Ament and Josue Rodriguez finished second in the 4x800 in 10:14.54.
McConeghey, Rhone, Rodriguez and Ament placed third in the distance medley relay with a time of 4:44.53.
The sprint medley relay team was made up of Buenrostro, McConeghey, Lewis and Hostetter and they were third in 1:48.5.
