SULLY — Colfax-Mingo’s girls track and field team is 2-for-2 on the young season.
The Tigerhawks scored a narrow win in the team’s first outdoor meet last week and followed it up with another close win on Tuesday at the Lynnville-Sully Hawk Coed Track and Field Meet.
The Tigerhawks went 1-2 in the shot put and discus for the second straight meet, claimed another win in the shuttle hurdle relay and scored 138 points at the top of the standings.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (134) was four points back in second and the host Hawks scored 132.5 points in third. The rest of the eight-team field included Pleasantville (104), Sigourney (71.5), North Mahaska (63.5), BGM (50.5) and HLV (25).
The Tigerhawks were led by Kyra Lester and McKayla Smith in the throwing events.
Lester won the shot put with a toss of 33 feet, 1 inch and the discus with a throw of 112-0. Smith was the runner-up in both events with tosses of 31-10 3/4 and 92-4, respectively.

The other win for Colfax-Mingo came in the shuttle hurdle relay as the foursome of Kylie Doty, Mickayla Lind, Melany Vry and Carley Underwood finished in 1 minute, 16.52 seconds.
The Tigerhawks won the meet after registering 14 top-three finishes.
Lynnville-Sully got three individual wins from Greenlee Smock and claimed a pair of relay victories.
Smock won the 800-, 1,500- and 3,000-meter runs. Her winning times were 2:40.55, 5:35.2 and 11:32.11, respectively. The time in the 3,000 locked up a new meet record.
The Hawks won the 4x100 and 4x200 relays.
In the 4x100, Carsyn McFarland, Aliya James, Sydney Jansen and Reagan McFarland won the race in 54.3 seconds.
Carsyn McFarland, Morgan Jones, James and Jansen won the 4x200 relay in 1:59.33.
Underwood registered a pair of runner-up finishes. She was second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.65 seconds and jumped to the silver medal in the long jump with a leap of 14-5.

The 16.65 in the 100 hurdles would have set a new meet record, but EBF’s Molly Shafer won the race in a new meet record time of 15.93.
The Tigerhawks went 2-4-5 in the long jump. Trinity Smith was fourth with a jump of 13-5 and Abi Rawlins was fifth with a leap of 13-1 1/2.
Trinity Smith also placed second in the 1,500 with a time of 6:04.69. Caylee Cunningham took third in the 400 in 1:09.84 and Doty finished third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:22.35.
The Tigerhawks claimed four other individual top-six finishes.
Cunningham was fifth in the 200 in 29.76 and was fifth in the high jump with a leap of 4-6. McKenna Pleima placed sixth in the 100 in 14.59 and Riely Wright took sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1:34.97.
Colfax-Mingo was third in four relays.
The foursome of Rawlins, Underwood, Cunningham and Pleima finished third in the 4x100 in 56.8.
Lind, Danica Linn, Maggie Schroeder and Felicity Woods were third in the 4x400 in 5:13.4.
The sprint medley relay team included Rawlins, Doty, Woods and Pleima and they finished third in 2:09.55.
The 4x800 team of Smith, Shae Wilkins, Rachael Uecker and Linn placed third in 11:54.56.

The Hawks were top three individually in six events. Reagan McFarland was the runner-up in the 100 in 13.66 and James finished fifth in 14.37.
Carsyn McFarland placed third in the 200 in 27.96 and Olivia Norrish was third in the 1,500 with a time of 6:08.9.
Jansen placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 4-8 and Allie Van Wyk was sixth at 4-4.
Abby Squires claimed a fourth-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 30-1 3/4. Kinsley Tice (1:11.35) was fifth in the 400, Majesta Vos (3:03.33) took fifth in the 800 and Greta Wallen tied for sixth in the long jump with a leap of 12-8.
The Hawks were second in three relays.
In the 4x400, Elise Alberts, Brooke Conover, Tice and Jones were second in 5:06.6.
The 4x800 team of Callista Hackert, Norrish, Wallen and Van Wyk was second in 11:38.25.
Natalie Nikkel, Aubree Arthur, Conover and Hackert finished second in the distance medley in 5:18.09.
