Baxter wrestling records pair of wins at Coe College

Callyn Bishop leads Bolts with three wins by pin

CEDAR RAPIDS — Baxter’s wrestling team recorded a pair of non-conference dual wins on Thursday night.

The Bolts competed on the campus of the Coe College Kohawks and went 2-1 in a quadrangular.

They defeated Postville 48-27 and downed Central Elkader 42-30. Baxter lost to North Mahaska 60-24.

Callyn Bishop led the way for the Bolts, finishing 3-0 at 160 pounds. All three of his wins were by fall.

Hope Good, Aiden McFadden, Jack Anderson, Curtis Gliem, Jacob Hiemstra, Michael Wilhelm and Cole Smith all won twice on the night.

Against Postville, Grant Andregg took a forfeit at 220. McFadden (285), Ty Bauman (132), Anderson (138), Gliem (145), Hiemstra (152), Bishop (160) and Wilhelm (170) all won by fall.

Bishop won by fall against Central Elkader, but the rest of the Bolts’ victories came by forfeit. Taking forfeits were McFadden, Anderson, Gliem, Hiemstra, Smith and Good.

The Bolts won just four matches against North Mahaska. Bishop and Wilhelm won by fall and Smith and Good each took forfeits.
