L-S basketball sweeps HLV

McFarland, Maston lead Hawks to SICL wins over Warriors

SULLY — A fast start was all Lynnville-Sully’s girls basketball team needed against HLV on Tuesday night.

L-S won the second quarter 9-4 and outscored the Warriors 25-23 in the second half.

“We were not as focused tonight as we had been the last couple of games, which lead to some sloppy play on both ends,” L-S girls basketball coach Jerry Hulsing said.

Five Hawks scored at least seven points in the win. Reagan McFarland led the way with 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and nine steals.

Natalie Nikkel chipped in nine points and 11 rebounds, Majesta Vos added nine points and six boards and Greenlee Smock had eight points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Janessa Blomme led HLV (0-5, 0-3) with 12 points and six rebounds.
