After recording career highs in assists, digs and kills, Colfax-Mingo senior setter Kyra Lester earned all-district honors by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association recently.
Lester was one of 10 players named to the Class 2A Central District team. She finished her career with a school-record 1,854 assists and collected 851 career digs.
This season, Lester dished out a career-best 660 assists, put down a career-high 51 kills and registered a career-most 263 digs in helping lead the Tigerhawks to a 22-12 record.
Lester’s senior year also included 16 blocks and 56 aces and she was 391-of-405 in serves.
Besides her all-district honor, Lester also earned academic all-state recognition.
The 10-player 2A Central District team included South Hardin’s Jaidyn Teske, Emma Salvo and Ellie Anderson, ACGC’s Chloe Largent, Van Meter’s Abby Matt, Woodward-Granger’s Darby Nixon, Earlham’s Riley Dodd, Pella Christian’s Sarah Gritters and Pleasantville’s Adi Adreon.
The district coaches of the year were South Hardin’s John and Suzy Teske.
