L-S football wins third straight, drills Wayne

Hawks stay unbeaten in district play after easy win over Falcons

CORYDON — Corder Noun Harder scored three times, Lynnville-Sully held Wayne to 120 total yards and the Hawk football team routed the Falcons 48-8 during Class A District 6 play on Friday night.

The Hawks led 22-0 after one quarter and 41-0 at halftime. It was the third straight win for Lynnville-Sully, which improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in district play.

Noun Harder set a new school record when he returned a punt 92 yards for a touchdown in the second. He also had a 37-yard TD run in the first and completed his day with an 11-yard scoring run in the third.

Noun Harder finished with 60 rushing yards and two scores on five carries.

The Hawks opened their scoring early in the first when Conner Maston hooked up with Bryce Richards for a 60-yard touchdown.

Maston hit Mathias Torres for a 31-yard TD later in the first. Maston finished 2-for-2 through the air for 91 yards and two scores. The receptions by Richards and Torres were their only grabs of the game.

Kyle Squires scored from 12 yards out in the second and Maxwell Mintle capped the Hawks’ scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run in the third.

Squires finished with 41 rushing yards and a TD on five carries and Mintle had 48 rushing yards and a score on 10 carries. Squires added four tackles and Mintle chipped in three tackles, one tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.

Lane Fisk led the defense with five tackles and two tackles for loss, Torres added three tackles and one sack and Caleb Rea snagged an interception.

Wayne (0-4, 0-3) scored its touchdown with 3:21 to go in the game. The Hawks punted just once.
