BELLE PLAINE — Lynnville-Sully’s baseball team broke open a close game in the fourth inning and then piled on during a South Iowa Cedar League road game against Belle Plaine on Wednesday.
Conner Maston tallied two hits, three runs, three RBIs, three steals and one walk as the Hawks blew out the Plainsmen 12-2.
The game went the full seven innings after the Hawks scored three in the fourth, four in the sixth and four in the seventh. Belle Plaine’s two runs came in the fifth.
Maston led the Hawks (6-4 overall, 5-1 in SICL play) but six others had at least one hit. Lucas Sieck also pitched into the sixth inning and got the win on the mound.

Owen Norrish finished with one hit, one run, two RBIs and one steal, Caleb Rea tallied one hit, two runs, one RBI and one steal and Braden Alberts scored one run, had one RBI, walked twice and was hit by two pitches.
Bryce Richards finished with one hit, one run, one walk and one stolen base, Corder Noun Harder added one hit, one walk and one RBI and Sieck tallied one hit and drew three walks.
Lannon Montgomery had one run, one RBI and one walk, Carter Dunsbergen chipped in one hit and one run and Blake Rea and Mason Jansen each scored one run and stole one base.
Sieck tossed 5 2/3 innings and allowed two runs — zero earned — on four hits with five strikeouts and four walks.
Ryan Annee pitched the remaining 1 1/3 innings and surrendered just one walk.
The Hawks had eight hits and one error in the game. Belle Plaine (5-4, 4-2) finished with four hits and five errors.
