C-M golfers split with BGM, girls win road triangular

Tigerhawk girls down Montezuma, EBF at Oskaloosa Golf Course

COLFAX — Jason Rhinehart and Kira Warrick claimed medalist honors against BGM on Friday, but the Tigerhawk golfers split with the Bears at Colfax Country Club.

The C-M boys golf team lost to BGM by five strokes, 239-244, while the girls played the course but BGM’s girls pulled out of the competition. The C-M girls fired a 267.

Kira Warrick was the girls’ meet medalist with a 54, while Carley Underwood shot a 66 to finish as the runner-up. Holland Robinette (71) and Brennan Rhone (76) had the other counting scores.

Rhinehart carded a 43 to win medalist honors for the boys. Shane Aikin was fourth overall with a 59 while Jake Nichols (64) and Cale Duffy (78) had the other counting scores.

Joe Kasal was the runner-up medalist for BGM after firing a 51. Dominic Coleman took third with a 58.

C-M girls down Montezuma, EBF

OSKALOOSA — Three personal-best scores helped Colfax-Mingo’s girls golf team to a season-best score against Montezuma and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Monday.

The Tigerhawks shot a season-best 219 to win the road triangular at Oskaloosa Golf Course. Montezuma shot a 240 and EBF did not have enough golfers for a team score.

Underwood won the first medalist honor of her career with a personal-best score of 52. Warrick shot a 54, Charlotte Donahue carded a personal-best 56 and Robinette fired a personal-best 57 as the other counting scores. Rhone’s 68 was a non-counting score.

EBF’s Rileigh Brink was the runner- up medalist with a 53.
