COLO — Allison Colyn won meet medalist for the first time in her career on Monday as the Baxter girls golf team downed Colo-NESCO by three shots at Twin Anchors Golf Club.
Three Bolts turned in personal-best scores and that was enough to defeat the Royals 235-238.
In the boys battle, Colo-NESCO cruised past the Bolts 182-221.
Colyn’s personal-best score of 54 was good enough to win medalist honors by one stroke. C-N’s Morgan Lytle was the runner-up with a 55.
Calleah Frink had a career-best score by 10 strokes as she turned in a 60. Sophie Meyer also had a 60 and the fourth counting score was Corryn Padget’s 61.
Hallee Rainsbarger’s personal-best 67 and Bri Dahlke’s 74 were non-counting scores.
Three Baxter boys shot personal-best scores but the Bolts were no match for the Royals, who had four scores under 50.
Austin Hennick was the meet medalist with a 39 and Caden Hasbrouck shot a 46 to take runner-up honors.
Dalton Shanks’ personal-best 51 and Zach Backus’ 51 led Baxter, while Jalen Porter shot a personal-best 58 and Hunter Hicks carded a personal-best 61 to complete the scoring.
