SULLY — Kate Harthoorn posted a double-double, Ava Brummel put down a career-best 10 kills and the Lynnville-Sully volleyball team served up 16 aces during a four-set win over English Valleys on Monday.
The Hawks downed their rival Bears 27-25, 25-20, 26-28, 25-20 in South Iowa Cedar League action.

Lynnville-Sully is 13-2 against English Valleys since 2007. The last four-set match in the series was in 2015.
Harthoorn led the Hawks with 21 assists, 16 digs, three kills and two aces. Brummel totaled 10 kills, six digs and four aces, Tatum Huyser posted five kills, 19 digs and two aces and Jaelynn Vander Wilt had the best prep match of her career with four kills, 11 digs and four aces.
Olivia Beyer totaled 19 digs, Brooke Harthoorn had seven assists and five digs, Brilynn Tice collected seven kills, four digs and three aces and Morgan Hay tallied 11 digs.
Brooke Hardeman finished with four digs and Lori Yoder dished out two assists.

The Hawks (7-7, 3-2 in the SICL) finished 92-of-101 in serves with 16 aces and put down 31 kills. Kate Harthoorn served 17-of-18, Brummel was 16-of-17, Vander Wilt finished 13-of-14 and Hardeman ended up 11-of-12.
English Valleys, which ended the Hawks’ long winning streak in the series last fall, dropped to 6-9 and 0-4 in the conference.
Lynnville-Sully 3, Iowa Valley 1
MARENGO — Five Hawks had at least three kills, Harthoorn registered another double-double and the Hawks rallied from an early hole to down Iowa Valley on Tuesday.
Lynnville-Sully lost the first set but rallied past the Tigers 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-20 in SICL play.

Kate Harthoorn led the way with 19 assists, 18 digs and four kills and Huyser totaled eight kills, six blocks and 17 digs. The duo combined to go 25-of-25 in serves.
Brummel chipped in six kills, six digs and two aces, Robinson added four kills, nine digs and three aces and Hay contributed 10 digs.
Tice put down three kills and had three digs, Vander Wilt and Brooke Harthoorn posted seven digs each, Hardeman registered five assists and two digs and Addison Collum collected five digs.
Beyer finished with four digs and Rhylee Rodgers served up two aces. The Hawks were 83-of-93 in serves.
Iowa Valley (2-17, 1-3) is 16-7 against the Hawks since 2008, but Lynnville-Sully is 4-2 in the last six matchups.
