DES MOINES — Sloan Brodersen, Ava Williams and Kenzly Brant all won their singles matches 9-0 during a road matchup with Des Moines East on Monday.
The Cardinals dominated the Scarlets in the season-ending, non-conference battle, 11-0, at the Birdland Tennis Courts. It was first 11-0 win of the season for Newton.

Brodersen won her first match of the fall at No. 1 singles, Willams claimed her first victory at No. 3 singles and Brant posted the first varsity singles win of her career.
The Cardinals (2-9) did not have the services of No. 1 player Morgan Frehse or No. 2 player Brooklyn Sterling.
Makenzie Clark and Mackenzie Cupples both won 9-1 at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively. It was the first varsity singles win for Cupples and the first win at No. 4 singles for Clark.

Kaetlin McPartlin was a 9-2 winner at No. 2 singles. That was her first win this fall at that position in the lineup.
McPartlin and Clark teamed up to win 9-0 at No. 2 doubles, Williams and Haylie Milheiser posted a 9-0 victory at No. 3 doubles and Brodersen and Brant won 9-1 at No. 1 doubles. It was the first varsity win for Milheiser.
Alieya Owen and Karrigan Moore scored a 9-2 win at No. 4 doubles. It was the first varsity wins for both players and the varsity debut for Moore.

Cupples and Sadie Stiles joined forces at No. 5 doubles and won 9-3. That was the first career varsity win for Stiles.
Des Moines East dropped to 1-7 for the season.
