GARWIN — The Lynnville-Sully volleyball team avenged a pair of losses from earlier this season when it edged BGM at the GMG tournament on Saturday.
But the Hawks split their four matches for the day, also defeating Meskwaki Settlement School but losing to host GMG and Cedar Ridge Christian.

Lynnville-Sully rallied past South Iowa Cedar League rival BGM 21-23, 21-14, 15-13. The Hawks were 1-2 against programs from the Iowa Star Conference though.
L-S defeated Meskwaki Settlement 21-14, 21-18. The host Wolverines swept the Hawks 21-18, 21-13 and Cedar Ridge Christian claimed a 21-13, 21-9 victory.
In the win over BGM, Kate Harthoorn led the Hawks with 13 assists, five kills, eight digs and two aces.

Tatum Huyser added four kills and 19 digs, Penelope Robinson chipped in four kills and seven digs, Brilynn Tice contributed three kills and four digs and Morgan Hay totaled six digs.
Brooke Harthoorn dished out four assists, Ava Brummel put down three kills, Brooke Hardeman collected four digs and two aces, Olivia Beyer finished with two digs and Jaelynn Vander Wilt served up two aces.
The Hawks (5-7) were 34-of-38 in serves with seven aces. BGM (5-4) was 45-of-50 in serves with five aces.

The Bears, who are 2-1 against L-S this fall, got six kills and 17 digs from Mya Beck and Kylie Arment totaled 12 assists and six digs.
In the win over Meskwaki Settlement (0-6), Kate Harthoorn led the Hawks with seven assists, three kills, three digs and two aces.
Huyser registered four kills and seven digs, Tice had two digs and five aces, Addison Collum contributed two assists and five digs and Brummel tallied two kills and two digs.

Robinson chipped in four digs, Hay added three digs and Beyer, Vander Wilt and Lori Yoder collected two digs.
The Hawks, who are 6-0 against the Warriors since 2009, were 30-of-31 in serves with 10 aces.
GMG (4-7) defeated L-S for the first time since at least 2010. The two teams have played three times since that season.

Huyser led the Hawks in the loss with five kills, two blocks and five digs and Kate Harthoorn totaled 11 assists and six digs.
Robinson contributed three kills and six digs, Brummel put down four kills and Beyer had seven digs.
Hardeman tallied five digs, Hay and Tice posted four digs and Collum finished with two digs. The Hawks were 21-of-24 in serves with four aces.

It was Lynnville-Sully’s first-ever meeting against the Regents, who are formerly Waterloo Christian.
Robinson totaled three kills and four digs, Brummel put down four kills, Huyser tallied nine digs and Beyer collected four digs.
Tice registered three digs and Hardeman posted two digs. The Hawks were 13-of-16 in serves with one ace.
