PELLA — The Newton volleyball team missed just three serves and had a kill efficiency of .239 against Pella Christian on Tuesday.
But the Cardinals couldn’t keep the rival Eagles down during a 25-21, 25-16, 25-18 road loss in Little Hawkeye Conference play.
The Eagles posted their fourth straight win after putting down 41 kills and serving up 12 aces.

Morgan Frehse had 11 kills and two digs for Newton, while Isabelle Rawlins chipped in 26 assists, two kills and six digs.
Camryn Klein totaled five kills, seven digs and two aces, Addie Ratcliff put down seven kills and Faith Roffey tallied seven digs. Merissa Schiebel registered five digs, Addy Cibula totaled four kills and Sophie Greer finished with two digs.
The Cardinals (7-4, 0-2 in the conference) were 53-of-56 in serves with two aces.

Brynn Roozeboom led the Eagles (5-5, 2-0) with 14 kills and nine digs. Addie Van Arendonk chipped in 12 kills, Mya Huisman served up seven aces and Brynn Runner dished out 34 assists.
Pella Christian was 63-of-70 in serves and it had a kill efficiency of .268.
