PELLA — The Pella Christian girls are considered one of the top tennis teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
Newton was going to have its hands full even at full strength but playing without its top two singles players made things even more difficult against the Eagles on Thursday.
The Cardinals pushed two of their doubles matches to a third-set tiebreaker, but Pella Christian improved to 4-1 in the conference after an 11-0 home win.

Andrew and Kenzly Brant also fell 7-5 in the second set of their match at No. 3 doubles and Ava Williams and Makenzie Clark lost 6-3 in their first set at No. 2 doubles.
Sloan Brodersen and Kaetlin McPartlin and Haylie Milheiser and Sadie Stiles each pushed their Pella Christian doubles opponents to a third-set tiebreaker.
