Heartland Singers to present concert April 28

Heartland Singers Community Chorus presents “An American Salute” at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at Oakwood United Methodist Church, 400 NE 56 St. in Pleasant Hill.

Many favorite patriotic songs will be performed, including “God Bless America,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and the “Armed Forces Salute.” Refreshments will be served after the concert and a freewill donation is suggested.

The group is directed by Dawn Hutchison and accompanied by Mary Nikkel, a Prairie City resident, and Anna Marie Attig. Members of the group are from Prairie City, Mitchellville, Altoona, Runnells, Pleasant Hill, Des Moines, Urbandale and West Des Moines.
