Audit on PCM Schools released

Hunt & Associates, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, released an audit report on PCM Community School District in Prairie City.

The District’s revenues totaled $16,869,857 for the year ended June 30, 2021, a 9.4 percent increase from the prior year. Expenses for District operations totaled $14,713,122, a .1 percent decrease from the prior year. The significant increase in revenues is due primarily to additional property taxes, American Rescue Plan Act funding and federal meal reimbursements through child nutrition programs.

The auditor reported six findings related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds. They are found in the Schedule of Findings and Questioned Costs of this report. The District was provided with recommendations to address each of the findings. Five of the six findings discussed above are repeated from the prior year.

A copy of the audit report is available for review in the District Secretary’s office and on the Auditor of State’s website at https://auditor.iowa.gov/audit-reports.
